Small details are part of God's plan too.

I enjoy reading lots of books, but my favourite is ultimately the Bible. Why? There are always things we can learn about it. Small details, mostly glossed over as being of no consequence set the scene for the future. As I have been reading Genesis, especially the narratives of Abraham and Lot, we find a lot of their character, but a few small facts surrounding their choice to separate, become clearer much later in Abraham's descenda
nts, the people of Israel.
When Lot and Abraham parted, their paths drastically changed. Abraham was told he would have a son in his old age (Isaac) as he had shown obedience and faith in his decision to give his nephew the best of the land. For Lot, even in the turbulent times, God was still working. Not only was the town he was living hear violent, but a war between that king and their overlord changed the landscape forever. The overlord in his conquest of Canaan displaced people in many places whom the people of Israel would encounter, mainly Edom and Philistia.
God provided Abraham's descendant Esau a ready-made place to live, ensuring that he was cared for into the future. Lot, was not forgotten, and his descendants, eventually had their own lands as well, which the people of Israel were forbidden to even set a foot. No matter what the situation we find ourselves in, God uses all the details in our lives. Not one of us are an error or a mistake in His grand design. Through the disasters Lot and Abraham went through, He always had a plan, and we can trust Him to have one for us too.
