God still sees you.

In a world of changing events, and less stability it is easy to wonder what is going on, and where is God in all this? You would not be alone in thinking it, as one who is a chronic planner (tables, lists, costings, you name it!), to have things go askew, it is hard to navigate and keep your mind in a positive frame. In short, I let it all go, and for one who likes things to be just the right order (ex Army), to get to this point and fully trust God in absolutely everything, was a big deal. We are all works in progress in God's eyes.

It is not a fatalistic mindview ("If it will be, it will be"), nor do I think that the hopelessness we feel because others and even the devil himself throw a spanner in the works is all there is, although, at times, we are taught that lie. So, what was the defining moment that brought me to this point? A very simple event that we planned for special guests. Throughout the year, there has been obstacles, and wondering "Is it worth it?" Thankfully, even in our absence, we had support and we pray continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NIV).

This is not a new thing. Hannah, Samuel's mother knew this truth, and so did all of Jesus' disciples to name a few. Both people were under uncertain situations, pondering what will happen next. But God saw them in their difficulties, even if the time it took, was long. They celebrated their wins, worshipped God in every season, and submitted all their plans to God. The result? Their blessing went beyond their imagination! It raised up Christ followers, a nation grew, and a faith spread across the world.

When I finally got back home after the guests were dropped off to travel back, we got a text of thanks and on Sunday a public appreciation. While praise is great, the biggest thrill we get is the happy faces that enjoyed the event, and that they see Jesus in all of us involved. God walked with us through the entire day, and brought joy. So when we feel all scared, doubtful, and questioning where our direction is going, know that God loves and values you, and we are never forgotten!
