We have had some humid days over what seems like an endless summer. But, the rain over the weekend was welcome. The refreshing, cool air gave me a great sense of peace. I can only imagine how it affects plants and animals. It never fails to remind me of the renewing power of the rain, and the wonderful creation God provides.
Rain is not the only thing that gives us that sense of hope and life. Jesus, referred to Himself as "the spring of living water" (John 4:10-14). Most people know this quote from the encounter of the Samaritan woman. Hope came to an entire village on that hot day, and changed the lives of a people most in the region had despised.
Although over 2,000 years have passed, Jesus to this day still gives us hope and renewal of our lives. Rain may come and go, but one thing is for sure, Jesus is always there for us, and continues to sustain over our life's journey. For many across the world, Jesus is a life-giving source in a dark, chaotic world.
Listening to the rain is a wonderful experience, and is symbolises God's love for His creation. But, He goes one step further by giving His only son Jesus, to provide life for those in the past, present and future. We can know alway put our trust in Him to support us through our own storms, every day!
