Leap of faith.

"People take care, never go anywhere', is a saying that I have as one of my message minders. Lisa McInnes-Smith is an inspirational speaker that has helped me many times, especially when I feel doubt creep in, or second-guess myself. Taking a leap of faith means taking a risk, even when it feels scary or unsure, our hope is in God.

I have been reading a lot about David's life. From a humble start as a shepherd, he was selected to be the next king of Israel. It would take a few years, hiding in the wilderness, surviving with only the support of loyal men, and leaning into God. Throughout all his days in his journey, they led him to big assignment on the throne. His faith was secure.

All he did, took a leap of faith, and it encourages me to embrace opportunities when they come. David was intentional whom he surrounded himself with, and how he lived. Although not perfect, David is widely regarded as one of the best kings of Israel, and was the model by which many kings were measured.

Jesus, however is the ultimate king. Loving equally and fairly. He was also intentional in who He gathered around Him. Those that follow Jesus take a leap of faith, trusting in their path with Him. It is a reminder that to be part of His Kingdom, means to be rejoicing and participating to see it grow, not by our will but God's.

The scripture says "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" (1 Peter 3:15bNIV). I am reminded, when we share our life journey with someone who has never heard of Jesus, we live by these words. And, taking that opportunity, we believe God will sow a seed in their hearts. Taking a leap, means that we know God will always be there, when we need him the most.
