It's all in the name.
I don't know about everyone else, but wandering through the bible always gives me insight. Names are very important to all of us. They give insight into a person. Some are named from an event, a person or even a catchphrase. Exploring through forests of Brazil, scientists thought they were looking for an endangered Orchid Bee (Euglossa Ignita), what they found was a new species of bee altogether. It was a surprise! So the name of the bee became Euglossa Bazinga from the Big Bang Theory TV series. Bazinga can be described as a surprise and is one of Sheldon Cooper's famous catchphrases.
Moses must have likewise received a shock meeting God in a burning bush. After being given the command to remove his sandals, as he was on holy ground, God gave him His instructions. I can only imagine Moses was still skeptical (he was brought up Egyptian after all), and needed a name to pass on to the Hebrews. "I AM who I AM" was what Moses was told. The title The Lord is translated from the name Moses was given. This encounter not only changed Moses' viewpoint, it sent him on a life-long relationship with God. Moses, along with Elijah, are numbered among those who were very close to God.
The Lord would not only show His power to Moses, but His love and compassion for His enslaved people. Moses in time would realise that trusting and walking with God, was far better than just paying "lip service". It was Moses and Elijah, who both got their wish to see The Lord face-to-face as they all met on the mountain with Peter and John. Getting to know The Lord is a journey that will take all our lives, and it will be a glorious day when we all see Him in His Kingdom. A name when given, is more than a description, it shows us the heart of the person. God is truly our Father, Creator, King and Forever Friend.
