Although the regional season is over, and life seems to be back to normal, there are always something that crops up, and we can call that life. However, how we perceive the times we have to set things aside, or the outcomes, it how we view them that shows God our heart. As young a Christian as my mum is, has learnt this lesson!

Today, as I read my bible in the morning, I reflected on this thought. The scripture on the surface speaks on a war, but one very striking feature leapt out at me. Three kings (Israel, Judah and Edom) went to war against Moab, and after wandering out ran out of water. Elisha, who accompanied the armies, out of regard for Judah, interceded on their behalf.

So there was lakes of water to provide for the armies (2 Kings 3:16) which was an easy thing for The Lord to do. But, the armies of Moab who drew up their battlelines saw the lakes as full of blood (2 Kings 3:23). Their perception engaged in battle and saw the Moabites defeated. Each saw a different image and view of the situation.

This spurs me on to instead look at the image of a situation negatively, to pray that God will show me a different view. It takes faith and perseverence, overcoming evil with good, and having hope. Sometimes, situations are not a no, but a maybe and God will always be there for us. It is all how we view it when God shines on our lives.
