Sometimes I get to have interesting conversations with my tutoring students. It gives me an insight into how they think, feel, and observe the world around them. With school returning, they were full of tales about their time away, but also questions about why things and creatures behave as they do.

After the student left, I pondered on why things happen. We can come to a few conclusions, both scientific and guesses, but few get close to the truth. The bible talks about certain creatures, like ants, lizards, birds, to name a few that while not very impressive, all have a part to play in God's creation. Everything has a purpose.

As I looked at the window before the sun had set, I gazed at the trees which are undergoing the usual Autumn change. I like the reds, golds, greens, and oranges, but most of the time, I know I will have to rake them up very soon. God reminded me, that though I think of them negatively, even the leaves have their purpose.

Like the tree, we as people need to change, rest, grow, and produce in our seasons, but as we walk with God, our purpose in His Kingdom becomes clearer. When we look back, God's handiwork is evident in why things happen as they do. We may need to learn a lesson, share our insights, or see the positive outcome.

Nothing that happens in God's creation is by chance. All have their part to play. From the humble ant, to humanity, we do our part in glorifying our Creator God. Even in this season, as I guide and mould young minds, this too, has its purpose. And we too, can joyfully embrace the situations we are in.
