Age is but a number.

One of my favourite Christian leaders is John Maxwell. He is 77 years old, penned numerous books, is still active and teaching many to become the best version of leaders all around the world. Another great person, though not a Christian, is Yayoi Kusama. She is an astounding 92 years old, created videos, make many unique sculptures, and uses her art to overcome mental health issues to become a light for many females across the globe, who struggle with their identity. Their similiarities? Both are older, true, but both desire to make a difference in a dark, chaotic world. Age never holds them back.

We often hear of younger people who are in the spotlight helping our world too, in a multitude of industries and communities. The ages might be vast between our generations, but it matters little if done for the right reasons. Jesus did encourage the disciples not to look down on the children, and Paul motivated Timothy not to let his youth hold him back, but in reality, age is but a number, it is the heart that counts. There are labels for different generations in society, but in the end, moving in one heart and mind in God's Kingdom, means no-one is left behind, because each age and stage brings valuable things to the table.

The bible shows resilient men and women, both young and old accomplishing great things for God. Some led armies, some were ancestors of Jesus, and others dispensed wisdom to key figures in the bible. Regardless of their role, their actions shaped and changed the world they lived in. They learnt and they grew. As John Maxwell says "We don't grow, if we don't learn". This holds true in the spring of our lives, in as much as the winter. We do not know who we can inspire and elevate in the future, because that has yet to be written, but we who have hope in Jesus, can shine a light where there is none.

So matter what generation you are, it is our hope today, that these words give you a desire to push on in whatever you are facing, because in the end, age should never be an obstacle.
